My first airplane ride was on this Coast Guard C-130 going to Kodiak, Alaska in February 2000. Some of my friends before we got on the plane. Me at the Coast Guard Festival in Grand Haven, Michigan. See my "Coastie" plush toy next to the search light on my bridge? I really like it. I love Coastie. 1st place winning photograph in the Auxiliary Recreational Boating Safety photo contest, 1999.

Annual Children's Safety Day, Harrimer School, Marietta. Uncle John Wargo and I at Dayton Children's Hospital in December 1999. My friend PFD Panda and me at the Children's Hospital for Christmas. My monthly visit to the Columbus Children's Hospital where I give out coloring books and my Coastie Trading Cards.

I even get hugged by parents. This was my trip to Kid's Safety Day program in Springfield, Ohio. Here I am checking out the lights on this boat while a friend of mine from the Auxiliary does a Courtesy Marine Examination. My dad was sick over Christmas so I got to go to the hospital to visit him. My dad and the pilot of the Coast Guard helicopter in June 1999. They wouldn't let me go for a ride, though.

Grandma Leah takes my brother to lots of schools in Marietta, Ohio to talk about boating safety. These are my friends from Anchorage, Alaska. Here is my brother in Anchorage and his friends. In July 1999 I got to be in a parade! It was lots of fun.

Here are the 3 awards I received in 1999 at the International Boating and Water Safety Summit. That is my dad in the middle with my Uncle Warren McAdams on the left and Auxiliarist Jesse Harrup. One of the lessons I teach in my classroom presentations is "REACH OR THROW BUT NEVER GO IN" I was showing these two students how to reach something like this noodle to pull a victim from the water. This was during my visit to USCG HQ.. Washington DC I met the Commandant of the Coast Guard Admiral Loy and entertained the children from the USCG Day care center. We had a great time! Here I am with students at the Garrett A. Morgan Transportation and Technology Futures program for math and science, June 1998.

Here I am getting ready to go on patrol with members of Eighth Eastern Region Auxiliary flotila 18-6 at Alum Creek State Park, Columbus, Ohio. This is my brother in Anchorage, Alaska. Here I am helping one of my friends from Marietta, Ohio learn how to put on a life jacket. My Grandpa Wendell Grimm from Marietta, Ohio.
